昨日、元North Carolina state UniversityのToxicology Programの出身者のDr. Hello, Dr. Motoyama - We are organizing a virtual (zoom) reunion of folks in the NCSU toxicology program in the early to mid-1980s. David Wells gave me this email address for you. Would you be interested in joining us for a 90-minute zoom virtual reunion? We are targeting mid- to late February, but currently are focused on contacting folks. Also, we are building a contact list including email and/or phone for the group. David sent the attached photo. Jeni Jenifer S. Heath, Ph.D. ・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・ Hi Dr. Heath, It is a great idea! The photo was taken when I was invited to supervise Dr. Dauterman's group when he was taking a sabbatical leave in Australia during 1982-1983. I can probably collect contact information of some of the people in the photo as well as some people who are not in the photo. Since some of them are now living outside the US, such as Japan, India, Thailand, etc, in which there are time differences, we need to figure out a good time convenient for everybody. Also, if someone knows how to get in touch with Faye Loid who was secretary for the Toxicology group for a long time, she may still have a list of graduate students and post-docs who were at the toxicology group. I believe she lives somewhere in North Carolina after retirement. Also, since the wife of Dr. Michael Roe, a professor in Entomology Department, used to work as secretary of Toxicology Department of NCSU until recently (or even now) she may be able to provide a directory of former graduate students and post-docs of Toxicology group. Thank you for coming up with the great idea. Let me know if I can be of help. Naoki Dr. Naoki Motoyama Professor Emeritus of Chiba University, Japan ・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・ Wonderful to hear from you! Lol I am in that photo, I think that I was already a student at Duke University about the time that you came to NCSU. your point about finding a convenient time is interesting and potentially challenging. Can you give me an idea about the time difference? Based on your experience, is there a time when it's a reasonable hour in both Japan and the US? Thank you for your offer of assistance! What I'm thinking of, is waiting a couple of days to give people a chance to respond to the attempts I've made to contact them today and yesterday, and then I maybe will send the list of people to everyone I've had contact with so that you all can help supplement additional names and also see whether you have contact information for people I've been unable to reach. No one has mentioned that they know how to get a hold of Faye. And Janet Rowe has retired. I have contacted the person who replaced Janet with the toxicology program, and she also is leaving NCSU soon. however she seemed excited about what we're trying to do so I'm still communicating with her about whether she is able to help before she leaves. I'm hoping that I will be able to give her a very short list of names of people that we have been unable to reach. Looking forward to seeing you at the reunion! Jeni
